Our Mission
Our mission is to bring to art, joy, culture and discipline of Japanese taiko drumming to the people of Detroit, Michigan, the Great Lakes and the whole Mid-West area. We will accomplish this mainly through education and performance.
Our Story
In July 2007 Mayumi and Brian Sole embarked on a journey to Ishikawa, Japan to learn the art of Japanese taiko drumming. Since August of 2007, they have been studying taiko with several groups at Japan's top taiko maker, Asano Taiko under the instruction of Mizue Yamada of Hono Taiko.
