Taiko Classes

Mayumi waited 10 years for someone to start a taiko group in Michigan. Finally she got tired of waiting and convinced Brian to start one with her.  Have you been waiting for taiko to make its way to Michigan?  The wait is over and it's finally here.  Check out our class offerings on our taiko classes page.  The two adult classes (Mon eve and Sat morn) are getting close to capacity.  Don't wait and miss out. 

Notice - In order to accomodate elementary school dismissal times and adults' work schedules, Monday's class times have been moved back.  The elementary class will now run from 5:00 to 6:00 and the adult class will run from 6:00 to 7:30.

RAION TAIKO

Raion Taiko, our performing group, is preparing for a full concert on February 20th in Marshall, Michigan.  The five of us will be performing a 90+ minute show, featuring original compositions, as well as traditional pieces.  Please come out to support us and the Marshall Middle School Students, who will be traveling to Japan this spring.  Check the performances page for more details.

To bring the art, joy, culture and discipline of Japanese taiko drumming to the people of Detroit, Michigan, and the Great Lakes area through education, performance.

Taiko Classes and Performances

Taiko classes are set to begin at the end of January. Space is limited and classes are beginning to fill up. Find out which class fits your schedule best by stopping by the Taiko Classes page for more information.
